Happy Valentine’s Day Movie City Maniacs!
Roses are Red.
Violets are Blue.
But the iris is a flower.
That will mean the end of you!
What better way to celebrate the most romantic day of the year then with a film that we each have an affinity for, of course we are talking about the first part of the Three Mother’s trilogy, Dario Argento’s masterful classic Suspiria (1977)!
In the spirit of the holiday, we skip all the foreplay and delve straight into the nightmarish world of Mater Suspiriorum, the Mother of Sighs. Adam Bentley once again joins our team as we investigate the mysterious secrets of the prestigious dance academy, and chat poetically about the surreal setting, heightened visuals, vibrant colour scheme, inventive deaths, otherworldly atmosphere, dramatic camera angles, and of course the unsettling and ear piercing score by Goblin. So, do you know anything about… witches?
Thanks for listening, and stay scared!
